Chickens!

We spent yesterday afternoon at a Backyard Chicken Keeping class put on by the Denver Botanic Gardens and Heirloom Gardens. Sundari, the teacher, was super rad - the class was taught at her house and we got to hang out with her 6 hens and 2 dwarf goats that she keeps in her backyard right in our fair city (Denver, that is. Not Cambridge, ma.). Considering the fact that I think eating eggs is one of the grosser ways a person can satisfy hunger, I'm surprisingly excited about the possibility of an urban microfarm. I like the idea of knowing where food comes from and of "eating local" in the most literal of ways. Also, there are about a jillion possible cute names for hens.
