PVC Pipe and Mylar Paper

Since his retirement, my uncle has jumped into the world of hobby photography with both feet. He has all sorts of lenses and converters and reads all the magazines. His latest trick is to roll a piece of clear mylar-type (i.e., overhead) paper and put it into the end of a piece of PVC pipe. Holding the other end over his lens, he snaps away.

Here are a few Koan and I took using his gadget while in Gulf Shores for Thanksgiving.

I haven't figured out a practical application (for myself), but experimenting with making the best "swirl" kept me busy for a few hours. This might be obvious, but no post-processing was done to these images.
