A bit of calm in the midst of...

...well, more calm.

This afternoon I'm headed to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to tag along on a(nother) Street Family Vacation! It feels sort of silly to be taking a vacation in the middle of an already relaxed schedule, but I don't think that should stop me. And it won't. I get to hang out with one of my favorite people in the world and her very generous and kind family. That's not the sort of thing to pass up.

In 2005, I spent Thanksgiving in Las Vegas with the Streets. We saw Wayne Brady's show (at a time when I was quite captivated by that funny guy), ate a whole lot of great food, played black jack at the high roller tables, and saw Celine Dion's "A New Day" show. I'm no Celine devotee, but that was good entertainment for sure, especially the top notch dancing (by professionals, not Ms. Dion). I can't imagine ever planning my own trip to Vegas, but if you ever get the chance to tag along on someone else's VIP trip, definitely do.

In the Spring of 2006, just before Kayla left to serve in Albania with the Peace Corps, I slid into a long weekend with the Streets in Chicago. Apparently, I took no photos. Highlights include a great day at the Art Institute and a late-night Aqualung show. In lieu of my own photos, here's one of the band.

Most recently, while Kayla was escorting a group of Albanian high school kids on a Model United Nations trip to the Bay Area, I further established my position as third daughter. Here we are by the ocean.

Hope to post photos of the new adventures soon!

"Vice President Cheney is also on vacation. He's in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. What better place for a guy who has had 4 heart attacks than a place with thin air, rugged hiking, and all-beef dinners? Whey don't they get some snow for him to shovel while he's out there, too?"
